According to Kalashatra Govinda:
In early adulthood, the challenges one faces change, and the chakra energies unfold under a new aspect. Now the things of the heart chakra, which is particularly active, come to the fore, love, warrant a feeling, empathy, and devotion. People are now ready to share and become involved in family, career, and society.
This phase is often the most productive period of life, since everything one does during this time is done wholeheartedly with the greatest enthusiasm. Those who master the challenges of this stage will possess the strength to act from their heart for their entire lives. The challenge is to recognize that everyone deserves love and that even the smallest things are meaningful.
Depending upon which chakra is active, the focus of one's love will be directed accordingly, from a narrow focus on material well-being to the aspiration for the divine. For most people, their development brings them somewhere in between the two extremes, but none-the-less one should take the challenge to heart and make every effort not to imprison ones love and too narrow a channel.
